What is Me Time LLC?
Me Time LLC is the brainchild and dream of Toni Ridge, a Massage Therapist and Yoga Instructor in Troy, AL. The mission is to provide a safe haven from the everyday stresses of life, including muscular tension and pain.
Contrary to popular belief, touch is not just a luxury. Touch is a basic human need. It soothes us when we hurt; protects us when we perceive a threat; and supports us when we push past our limits- physical and otherwise. Knowledgeable, experienced, professional delivery of massage and bodywork services in a safe and comfortable environment provides the therapeutic touch that is required to not just survive, but to thrive in our high-stress world.
Stress is one of the most controllable causes of many chronic and debilitating conditions faced by people today. Massage is not just as an intervention, but also maintenance and preventative care that can reduce stress, pain, and illness; helping to prevent your body from turning against itself and allowing you to live a longer, healthier, and happier life to its fullest.
Staff: Toni Ridge
Toni Ridge is a provider of professional Massage and Bodywork services and educational workshops. She is the founder of Me Time LLC and contracts with Woodling Chiropractic & Wellness Center providing Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork services at their new location on Elba Hwy. She has worked in spa and clinic settings for more than 15 years and can use a combination of approaches to help you achieve your health and wellness goals.
Toni originally studied Massage Therapy in a 1 year diploma program at Hesser College in NH. When she decided that the cold weather didn't agree with her, she moved to the panhandle of Florida and completed the Florida requirements at Soothing Arts School of Massage. Once she became Nationally Certified and received her Florida Massage License in 2004, she began her own massage practice. In 2005, she moved to Orlando, FL where her clinical and spa skills were honed to accommodate a variety of clients in various settings (spas, a resort, a chiropractic office, a massage clinic, health fairs, sporting events, and client locations).
During her journey through the massage career path, she attended Everglades University and graduated with a BS degree in Alternative Medicine. She readily incorporates the theories and practices she learned in that program to help her clients achieve relief from pain (back pain; sciatica; neck pain; shoulder pain; headaches; sports, work and auto accident injuries; muscle spasms or over use), increased flexibility, quicker recovery from athletics or injuries, reduced stress, increased immune efficiency, improved quality and quantity of sleep and better overall health in the greater Troy, AL area.
For more almost 5 years, Toni had dedicated herself to educating the newest members of the massage profession at Virginia College in Montgomery, AL. She taught Anatomy and Physiology, Pathology, Kinesiology, Massage History, Massage Techniques, Business Management and Entrepreneurship, Spa Services, Hydrotherapy, Aromatherapy, Energetic theories and practices or Reflexology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, and Meditation. She plans to, eventually, teach CEUs for currently licensed professionals in order to enhance the overall practice and general understanding of massage therapy. Until then, she does teach classes for individuals to learn Infant Massage, for couples to learn to help each other without hurting themselves, and for individuals and groups to learn a variety of relaxation and self-care techniques.
Most recently, Toni has become a Certified Yomassage Therapist (CYmT) and offers this wonderful modality to clients as an outcall service for Corporate or Private functions. She is currently studying to become a Yoga Instructor at Dragonfly Yoga in Fort Walton Beach, FL, a Yoga Alliance Certified 200 hour program which she will complete in November 2019.
She is currently Licensed by the AL Board of Massage (ALBOM) as a Massage Therapist and Instructor, Board Certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), Certified Member of Associate Bodywork and Massage Practitioners (ABMP) and a Certified Cupping Therapist by the International Cupping Therapy Association (ICTA).
Toni is passionate about Massage Therapy because it is one of the few medical fields where the effects begin after just the first treatment session. It is powerful enough to cater to the needs of the injured, delivering medical interventions that are less invasive than surgery and drugs; yet it is gentle enough to also be used to prevent illness and injury by the health conscious. She strives to provide the best possible treatment for each individual every session.
Toni lives on a local farm with her husband and very active toddler son.
